Describing teachers

Imagen
Welcome Back :) I am so happy to be here updating this blog with important information about our didactic class, but at the same time I am sad because this is the last register of the semester and we are not sure if we will be having the same teacher for Didactics II, I hope yes because teacher Orlando is the best teacher ever. This class is my favorite. Okay, let me start, for this week we started studying "Describing Teachers" We started the class with the question "When you think about your teachers... what ideas come to your mind? we discussed the question in pairs, we had to think about ideas about our teacher inside and outside the classroom, in an academic context. some of our answers were: Dynamic, moving around, and providing examples (inside way). Referring to the outside way: approachable (if we need help), check homework, they are in training or meeting most of the time.  Then we discussed some of the aspects that are taken into account when describing tea...

Describing Learners

Imagen
Hello :) I am so nervous because this is the last topic before our midterm, I know midterms are scary but I hope we all get good grades. So let's learn about Describing Learners , as teacher Orlando explain to us, there are 3 types of learners which are children, adolescents, and adults and to describe our learners, we should consider the following aspects: Age Learner Differences Language Levels Their Motivation Background* let's begin by explaining a little bit about the age (young children)   They respond to meaning even if they do not understand individual words. They often learn indirectly rather than directly. Their understanding comes from what they see, hear, and – crucially – from what they have the chance to touch and interact with.  They find grammar concepts difficult to grasp.  They generally display enthusiasm.  They have a need for individual attention and approval from the teacher. They are keen to talk about themselves.  They have a limite...

Learning Styles

Imagen
Welcome to a new entry :) Today let's learn about " Learning Styles "  There are four types of learning styles — visual, auditory, kinesthetic, and reading/writing . And is important to mention that learning style refers to the preferential way in which the student absorbs, processes, comprehends, and retains information. Neil Fleming and Colleen Mills proposed, in 1992, the VARK model  And one interesting aspect is that 100% of the population uses a combination of all three styles listed above.  And most often one type is dominant. Why is important to understand your learning style? Better major selection. A better strategy in choosing courses that are aligned with how you learn. Strategize ways to do better in your courses. Now let me explain a little bit about each learning style If you are a visual learner , you learn by reading or seeing pictures. You understand and remember things by sight. You can picture what you are learning in your head, and you learn best by us...

MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES PRESENTATIONS 2

Imagen
Hello :) Here we are again for the multiple intelligence presentations .  I will continue explaining the multiple intelligences that we are missing, so let’s begin.   Let’s start with Intrapersonal intelligence , we learned that is defined as the capacity for self-reflection, to be aware of strengths and weaknesses, feelings, and thought processes that constitute self-knowledge. Some characteristics that we learned were: The individuals are highly intuitive, and independent. They are able to apply their learnings to daily activities and tasks practically. They are good at controlling their impulses and negative reactions like anger, jealousy, frustration, or annoyance. They often need quiet time alone to reflect on their thoughts. What are the activities that we can perform with this intelligence: Keep a journal. Write an autobiography. Storytelling Meditation. Some of the benefits: Reflect and evaluate your inner feelings. Give you a greater compassion for and understanding o...
