TEACHING WRITING
Hello everyone, welcome to a new entry
Here we are again to talk about an interesting topic that is "TEACHING WRITING" This week we started with some handwriting exercises, so we can have a better idea of how to teach our students(in the future) how to start writing.
Writing involves many different aspects:
1. Handwriting
2. Spelling
3. Punctuation
4. Sentence construction
5. Organizing a text and paragraphing
6. Text cohesion
7. Register / style
Also, the roles of the teacher are:
Monitor
Resource
Feedback provider
Approches to student writing
Process and product
Genre (intention)
Writing as a cooperative activity
Building the writing habit (journaling)
Writing-for-learning and writing-for-writing
Creative writing
It's very important to study what grammar really means and how people can learn it, that is why that we concluded that grammar is the system and structure of a language. The rules of grammar help us decide the order we put words in and which form of a word to use. And in the future, we are going to be able to teach other people about all these topics using all the teaching methods that teacher Orlado is teaching us because everything is connected.
We recap about "deductively and inductively" where deductively means straight to the point and inductively leaning from the context.
Teaching grammar deductively
Teaching grammar inductively
Why is vocabulary (lexis) important in the classroom?
Okay, so teaching writing and vocabulary can be a little tough because we as a teacher must dedicate time, and try to find the best teaching method that adapts to all students because not everyone learns the same way. But I believed the most important thing is to PRACTICE, ALWAYS TIME FOR PRODUCTION.
"The main aim of the teachers in teaching grammar is to teach the structure of the language systematically and make their students get good command over the language to produce the learned grammatical structures accurately when they use them in their real-life situations in either spoken or written form."
I hope you enjoy this entry, see you on the next one
With love, Kat
