TEACHING SPEAKING

Imagen
Hello, Welcome back :) Let's continue with the second macro skill  "SPEAKING" which is very important because g is the delivery of language through the mouth. To speak, we create sounds using many parts of our body, including the lungs, vocal tract, vocal cords, tongue, teeth, and lips. In order to be teachers we must have a nice voice, we must know how to control it and make good use of it so our students will understand us in a better way.  As a teacher is a must to differentiate that speaking can be formal or informal and we must know how to use each one. For example, informal speaking is typically used with family and friends, or people you know well. And formal speaking occurs in business or academic situations, or when meeting people for the first time. And while I was writing this blog I was looking for more information about what is meant by "teaching speaking" and I learned that is to teach English learners to: • Produce English speech sounds and sound...

TEACHING WRITING

Imagen
Hello everyone, welcome to a new entry Here we are again to talk about an interesting topic that is "TEACHING WRITING" This week we started with some handwriting exercises, so we can have a better idea of how to teach our students(in the future)  how to start writing.  Writing involves many different aspects: 1. Handwriting 2. Spelling 3. Punctuation 4. Sentence construction 5. Organizing a text and paragraphing  6. Text cohesion  7. Register / style  Also, the roles of the teacher are: Monitor Resource Feedback provider Approches to student writing  Process and product  Genre (intention)   Writing as a cooperative activity  Building the writing habit (journaling)   Writing-for-learning and writing-for-writing  Creative writing  Also, we wrote about the best day of our life and one of our classmates verify if our spelling, punctuation, etc was correct, I wrote that the best day of my life was at the Hospital Za...

Body language & coordination, and improvisation"

Imagen
Welcome to a new entry :)  Again, I am so excited to explain the exercises we performed in class related to body language, coordination, and improvisation. I believed I have mentioned this before but this is my favorite class, I am never bored or sleepy because the teacher Orlando knows how to keep us entertained.  The first exercise was about "Keeping focus" We had to keep eye contact with the person in front of us while being serious and was a difficult task because my classmate was making jokes and also because I am not a serious person but I tried my best on this exercise and I will continue practicing because as a teacher is important to be serious when needed so our students will take our words in a better and serious way. Also, we continue keeping eye contact with one person as we were walking around the classroom this exercise was easier because when you are doing something else like talking, walking is easier to keep eye contact with the other person instead of ...

VOICE PROJECTION

Imagen
Hello, welcome to a new entry :) This week we will discuss the importance of the voice because our voice projection  will allow our audience to hear and understand us more easily. It will help build our confidence as a speaker, give us a natural authority, and help us hold attention. But it isn't as simple as just shouting or straining your voice to be louder. The teacher asked us to perform different activities to practice our voice projection, we started with IMITATION , where we had to imitate a man, a woman, and a child. For me, the most difficult part was to imitate a man, because they have a stronger voice.  Here we are in groups doing this practice: The second activity was about RESONANCE where we had to sing and pronounce vowel sounds in a good and long way (holding notes). Singing is not something that I like because I don't have a good voice but I tried and we have fun. But something cool that we learned is that Teacher Orlando sings really well, I love the way he ...
