SUGGESTOPEDIA
Hello readers :) I am glad to have you all back for my new entry.
This week, let’s learn about the SUGGESTOPEDIA METHOD.
It is a method of teaching a foreign language in which students learn quickly by feeling relaxed, interested, and positive. developed by the Bulgarian psychiatrist Georgi Lozanov in the 1070s.
There are two Affective filters: Internal which is a previous experience (how we feel) and External which is an external stimuli (surrounding environment).
The use of music in this method is very important even is not possible to use music all the time but it is very recommended. Another characteristic of the method will be that is very comfortable and is based on psychological theory.
Some examples of this method:
The influence of the teacher.
The creativity.
The method used to teach the students can be, music, writing a journey, play some games in the class you.
To conclude, the Suggestopedia method emphasizes a safe, comfortable space in which students feel at ease and in which they enjoy learning. In the right environment, students feel safe and cared about, which creates a positive learning experience. Also, using music in the classroom improves learning outcomes. Music can reduce stress, and inspire creativity. But teachers must be careful with the music they use in this method because some music can be distracting for some students.
We did a lot of activities with music in the classroom but to be honest for me listening to music while I try to learn is very distracted, so I prefer studying/ learning without music.
