COLLABORATIVE APPROACH
Welcome back, readers 😊
I am so happy to be back, we are on period number two of this amazing subject, to be honest with you all this is my favorite subject but please don’t tell anyone.
But let me begin by explaining what we have been learning so
far, We begin studying the topic “Collaborative Activities” and let me tell you
that I am really loving this topic and all the activities we are doing in the
classroom. Here is a picture of some information that we started discussing in class
We learned that Collaborative Activities are any activities
where learners are working cooperatively in pairs or groups.
Some examples of where these collaborative activities can
happen:
Discussions developed by a group or in pairs. We did this activity in class, my group decided to participate in the listening triangles where the teacher was explaining a case and at the end, we must answer the teacher's questions, for this activity a speaker, a questioner, and a note-taker is needed that is why must work in groups.
The second was the talk partners we did this one using rods,
we had to work in pairs, with the person that had our same rod color, and
discuss a topic
Then we did the think-pair-share where we prepared a response to a text or a piece of work that we explain to our partner then we join more people with our same rods color to share views and conclusions.
Completing share tasks can be in pairs or groups as well (matching, sorting, ranking). This will encourage using a vocabulary of the curriculum area, making suggestions, justifying opinions, agreeing, and disagreeing.
Activities or games with competitive elements like bingo
It can happen in a drama or role-play.
Activities where information is exchanged, this includes
barriers games and jigsaw activities.
Also, we did a fun game where 2 members of each group have
to use cords (string handcuffs) they
both were tied with cords and they need to untangle the cords as we can see in
the following picture
It was very funny I will be posting a video so you can enjoy the activity as well
To conclude, the Collaborative Approach is a
learning approach that involves students working together in small groups on different activities or learning tasks where every member of the group contributes to a common overall outcome.
Also, the teacher explained to us about a presentation that
we will be having in the next few days, about “Multiple Intelligences” our group
will be talking about “logical-mathematical intelligence” I will be
explaining more about it in my next entry so stay tuned.
Thank you for all the love to my blog, if you have any
questions about the collaborative approach, please added them in the comments and
I will be responding as soon as possible.
Until next time
With love, kat
